A glorious single malt from GlenAllachie, produced under the watchful eye of its legendary Master Distiller Billy Walker! With fifty years in the blending biz, Billy certainly knows how to select and marry the best casks, and this 18-year-old expression is a superb testament to that talent. Casks were selected from across the distillery's 16 warehouses, some of which date back to the 1970s. Impressive stuff as ever with all those classic notes of nutty toffee, robust malt, and honeyed fruit that GlenAllachie does so well. This bottle was produced before the range underwent a redesign in 2024.
Chocolate Brazil nuts and floral wafts of honey, rich, dark sugar with sweet raisins in tow.
Silky toffee and a pinch of dried heather lead, followed by dense, honeyed fruit cake. Forest fruits creep in, bringing with them nutty spice and old oak.
Caramelised nuts and baking spice stick around for an age, with sticky muscovado and robust, roasted barley.
