GlenAllachie 13 Year Old 2006 (cask 6601) - PX Hogshead (Spirit of Speyside Festival 2020)
Though the 2020 Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival was sadly cancelled, GlenAllachie still released this brilliant whisky bottled specially for the festival! It was distilled in June 2006, and spent its 13 years of ageing in a a single Pedro Ximénez sherry hogshead. The single malt was eventually bottled in March 2020, with a release of 332 bottles at a robust 60.5% ABV.
This bottle was part of a private collection and will show signs of wear if of a certain vintage - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Blackberry jam, roasted coffee bean and treacle, with fragrant oak spice.
Palate
Dusty cocoa and heaps of dried fruit, with waxy peels and cinnamon French toast.
Finish
Treacle returns, supported by Black Forest gateau.
