12-year-old single malt Scotch whisky from GlenAllachie, originally launched in mid-2018 following Billy Walker taking the reins of the distillery in 2017, and given a shiny redesign in 2024. This is the flagship expression from the Speyside-based distillery and features whisky matured in Pedro Ximénez, oloroso and virgin oak casks, resulting in a huge flavour profile of fruit, oak and vanilla.
Fried banana, almond, cola cubes, freshly cut oak.
Stem ginger and sultana, oily barley and buttery vanilla.
Very slightly chocolatey on the finish.

Bought this for hubby for Xmas not having a clue about whisky...wow exactly what the box says...lovely dram
This is the first time I have tried the 12 year old Glenallachie. I had read previous reviews and thought it was worth a try. Highly recommend this single malt
OVER PRICED
Just sampled the wee dram of this lovely malt, as part of the advent calendar. As a lover more of the Islay and Island malts, I am often less-enthused by many Speyside offerings. Not this one, though. Luscious, smooth, delicious. May be my favourite Speyside malt so far at this price point. Going on the list for buying a full bottle next order.
Complex flavours which are delightful. Good description of what to expect so no surprises. A good buy I would say ...
