GlenAllachie
One of three expressions from the launch of GlenAllachie's Virgin Oak Series, this single malt Scotch whisky has been matured for 12 years, including a stay in Chinquapin oak casks. The Chinquapin oak was sourced from the Northern Ozark region in Missouri, and was air dried for almost four years before being given a medium level toasting.
Fragrant orange and lemon, with a subtly savoury hint of heather growing in the background.
Butterscotch and maple syrup, with a good helping of oaky spice sneaking through also.
Slightly floral again on the finish. Caraway, brown sugar and black pepper.
