Sherry
This single malt was independently bottled by Murray McDavid for its Benchmark collection. Distilled at Speyside's GlenAllachie, the whisky was matured for 13 years in sherry butts, before finishing off in first fill Cognac casks. The result is plenty of vinous influence, with sweet sherried fruit and rich cask character.
Jammy berries, honeyed fruit and orange butter.
Pear and white grape combine with boozy sultanas, vanilla cream, roasted walnuts and malted oak.
Spiced malt and nuts continue, along with a splash of boozy coffee and apple tart.
