
A superb single malt from GlenAllachie, exclusively bottled for the UK market. After maturing for over eight years in bourbon barrels, the whisky was treated to a finishing period of around 42 months in Sicilian marsala wine casks. The fortified wine casks have imparted decadent layers of sweet fruit and honeycomb to the nutty malt at its core.
Floral malt, orchard blossom, and runny honey lead to cooked stone fruits, candied nuts, and vanilla.
Creamy layers of apricot and peach open the way for cinder toffee and roasted pecans, while soft spices and burnt sugar nestle beneath.
A touch of anise arrives for the finish, with butterscotch, creamy vanilla, and more roasted nuts.

This is a lovely whiskey, not overly complex but a very easy dram and would be a real crowd pleaser. If you wanted to introduce someone into whiskey this would be a good place to start.
