GlenAllachie 10 Year Old Chinquapin Oak Finish
GlenAllachie's Virgin Oak Series continues with a ten year old single malt Scotch whisky finished in Chinquapin oak casks! This expression was initially aged in ex-bourbon barrels, before being moved over to the Chinquapin oak casks, made with wood from the Ozarks in Missouri, USA. In those casks, this whisky spent approximately 18 months resting, before being bottled up at 48% ABV.

Nose
Pecan and peanut brittle, with a dusting of nutmeg and cinnamon in the background.
Palate
Chocolate-chip cookies, heather honey, waxy peels, and a hint of earthy barley.
Finish
Vanilla pod, crunched peppercorns, caramel.
