Glorious Glenallachie single malt, it's the sixth batch from the distillery to be bottled up by That Boutique-y Whisky Company! Matured for ten years, this expression was finished in a Maker's Mark bourbon cask, imparting plenty of fragrant vanilla, zingy citrus, and oily oak spice to the robust malt at its core. Joining the Boutique-y Records series, this is one of two Glenallachies to be released, each treated to different cask finishes. It'll be interesting to compare the two consecutively, like when you flip a record and find a remix of the A side on the B side, which is what the label is all about here. It looks like those Boutique-y folks are trying their hand at the disc jockeying game... How would that acronym go? TBDJC?

‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Candied citrus fruits and creamy vanilla open the way whilst a smidge of lemon peel and cut grass rest beneath.
Oily malt coats the palate bringing prickles of pepper and warming ginger to the fore. Crisp pear and green apple smooth things out along with burnt toffee and resinous oak char.
Subtle fruit sweetness, warming spice, and more herbal, grassy barley tangle, keeping things interesting and complex on the finish.
