Single Malt

A 2015 release from Glen Scotia's new (redesigned) range, Victoriana is made with whisky drawn from casks specially selected by their master blender, finished in heavily charred oak casks and bottled at 51.5% ABV.
Elegantly oak-y, with notes of toasty sugar and citrus peels.
More fruit forward on the nose, with dark berry juiciness at its core.
Orchard fruits dusted with dark chocolate.

Well formed whisky. Drinkable at full strength but holds up with water. Caramel and dark fruit are prominent, complementary peaty backdrop.
Wonderful. Oak, black cherry, a very aromatic nose, citrus. chocolate, long finish. Will be getting another bottle or two, this caught me be surprise, truly different than any single malt I've had, did I say wonderful !!
This one is very special. The history in this bottle really takes us all by surprise, Victoriana is exceptionally rare. Malt Master, John Peterson, hand selected casks from the reserve cellar, each chosen for their rare characteristics and exceptional maturity. Finished in the finest deep charred oak, the result is an exceptionally smooth Single Malt Scotch Whisky where aroma and flavour work in harmony. Bottled in the traditional way, straight form the cask and without chill filtration.
Got a bottle for Christmas. Haven't tasted yet still admiring the bottle.
