Glen Parker
Single Malt
An easy-going single malt from an unnamed distillery in Speyside, Glen Parker is ever so slightly peaty.
Tasted this when it was the "whisky of the day", and thus a bargain, at a pub near Glasgow. My first impression was that it was real whisky, but just very poor quality. I assumed then that some Glasgow entrepreneur had gone around distilleries buying up the cheapest barrels that the distilleries were least proud of, and blending into this. Bizarrely, the other "whisky of the day" was the very opposite: a very good, but clearly imitation whisky, that was drinkable but was never a malt whisky.
Just bought a bottle of this in duty free in coratia, was surprised to see it's a screw top for a single malt! But honestly as another reviewer has said it's a great whiskey if you've never had a malt before. Will definitely buy more of this easy going whiskey ???
Lovely single malt. Very fruity on the nose with a long lasting spicy/caramel taste. Would recomend, especially considering its price range!
Slight orange on the nose. A reasonable palate, maybe a tad bitter on the finish. Not bad for the price. Bought for me as Christmas present. Yes I would willingly drink this. Some reviews far too harsh.
It's mild and easy to drink, but finish is a little bitter. If you are bored with the mid price blends, if are looking for smth different, it is a good alternative for you. But do not expect much for the money.
