Glen Moray
Scotland
Single Malt
Glen Moray has been experimenting with some very interesting cask finishes as of late, at this one is particularly exciting indeed - the distillery in Speyside has finished this single malt Scotch whisky in casks that previously held rhum agricole from Martinique for around 24 months! Definitely not something you see every day, though we'd be happy to see more of this sort of thing.
Candied lemon peel, honey, white pepper, toffee apple.
Slightly grassy at first, though moves into hints of cherry and banana. Still warming and peppery.
Lingering toasted brown sugar and walnut.
Interesting nose, mainly toffee with a blast of grass to start. A little pepper. Palate banana pepper and kirsch. Finish, brown sugar and warmth with a little pepper A very pleasant dram.
Interesting story, wasn't blown away. Fruity and spicy and not unpleasant to drink
