The central, and entry level release in the Elgin Classic range from Glen Moray distillery. Very easy to drink, this stuff offers up hints of soft citrus and barley.
Light, fresh. Grist. Nutty, floral. Dried grass. Slightly fruity.
Oak, gentle. Well balanced, walnut, grist. Citrus, lemon sponge.
Tangy citrus, spicy fruitcake.

An overwhelming, even cloying, sweetness overlays any other subtleties that might be hiding in the flavour. This is one for those who like their cordials undiluted!
Bought a bottle of this yesterday. Hot summer day. Paid 15 euro's. In the evening, just after sunset, drunk this with ice......... great!
Bought for me as a present liked the smokey oakey taste. I think whiskey is a personal thing dependent on our individual palates.
Mentioned as an entry level whisky, it's o.k to drink better than some iv'e tried in the price range, would try more from this distillery.
In my top two easy drinking "kitchen cupboard" malts so far, along with the slightly more characterful Old Pulteney. Chosen after an entire night on a Brittany Ferries voyage, which offered a continuous free tasting of dozens of malts. What an education that was. Try Gen Moray over a really good quality vanilla ice cream ! Delicious but not for the purist, which I am not. Glen Moray : "Soft and easy".
