Single Malt
Glen Moray
Scotland
The central, and entry level release in the Elgin Classic range from Glen Moray distillery. Very easy to drink, this stuff offers up hints of soft citrus and barley.
Light, fresh. Grist. Nutty, floral. Dried grass. Slightly fruity.
Oak, gentle. Well balanced, walnut, grist. Citrus, lemon sponge.
Tangy citrus, spicy fruitcake.

People here are reviewing two different whiskies, the elgin classic and the peated/ malt version, they are like chalk and cheese actually ! the elgin classic is light floral and very moorish, the smoke is very moorish but only to a minority palate, both are really good value and at just over your run of the mill blended stuff costwise you really cannot go wrong at this price.
Don’t be put off by the snobs down voting this. For twenty quid it punches way above its belt. Obviously a fifty quid bottle tastes better but not THAT much better. Like not over twice as good. But this DOES taste twice as good as similar price range offerings such as Jamesons or Jack Daniels.
It's hard to be too critical with a dram at this price point. Even so, this single malt continues to be among my least favorite. Very grainy, simple, with vanilla and some citrus and farm funk. I prefer their finishes, especially the sherry cask.
Very nice on the rocks ??
Im a regular Single malt whisky drinker . I found Glen moray smooth and simple . Havent got very many notes and complexity but then its not oak aged but distilled in speyside . For the price and quality its very good . You can pull out your more complex malts on special occasions indeed.
