A peaty expression joins Glen Moray's Classic range! Reasonably laid-back for a peated expression, but by no means lazy, this Speyside single malt Scotch whisky balances peaty whiffs with plenty of vanilla, and some fragrant elements as some of the distillery's usual character makes its way through. One for those newer to peaty whisky, as well as peat fans, and great value.
Familiar peat smoke off the bat, with characteristic butteriness developing.
Smoke never gets too intense, but plays a central role alongside vanilla and orchard fruit.
A little bit peppery, though still enjoyably sweet.

For me, the Elgin Classic range is pretty good, for the price. The Finnish element of our local whisky club (Hi, Vesa & Tiina, just in case) have adopted it as their stock 'drink responsibly' single malt. I'm not such a peat fan and as it goes, I'd take the Chardonnay Cask as my favourite in the range but I can see why they'd have this! I've spent much more on peated Islays that have been no better. Well worth a try, at the price. Ian
The perfect whisky for a cold night with the right amount of vanilla and peat finishing quickly!
My favourite is Glenmorangie so initially I was put off with the taste and smell, although it was smooth to drink, after a whie I had more respect for the drink and it actually grew on me. A matter of letting the palate adjusting to the new taste I think. Wouldn't be my first choice but it does have some quality for the price paid £19.
Very nice. It's what it says on the bottle. Fair price and a very nice dram. Good stuff and smells wonderful.
A great peaty whisky for the price., ignore other reviews knocking this, for your money you cant complain about this in fact quite the opposite, an excellent Speyside region whisky for your hard earned money.
