Glen Moray
Scotland
Single Malt
A peaty expression joins Glen Moray's Classic range! Reasonably laid-back for a peated expression, but by no means lazy, this Speyside single malt Scotch whisky balances peaty whiffs with plenty of vanilla, and some fragrant elements as some of the distillery's usual character makes its way through. One for those newer to peaty whisky, as well as peat fans, and great value.
Familiar peat smoke off the bat, with characteristic butteriness developing.
Smoke never gets too intense, but plays a central role alongside vanilla and orchard fruit.
A little bit peppery, though still enjoyably sweet.
Very nice, more like a Bowmore than a Teacher's to me. Lovely balanced peaty beauty.
Taste is OK, but good for the price. Excellent for a peated old fashioned
Tried this with ice,I found the smell intolerable, tipped it out and tried neat still has a bad smell,is there another way to drink this and avoid the smell?so far it is not grabbing me.i like pleated whisky,I have not smelled anything like this.
Peated? Well, if you say so. Perhaps too subtle for me. If you like a real smokey dram this isn't it.
I’ve just had a dram of this excellent Glen Moray Peated lovely fruity/peaty nose, smooth peaty background behind vanilla and light fruit a peppery edge and finish (peaty again though the peatyness does not overpower but sits in the close background smiling benevolently all around) well worth buying congrats to the distillery team excellent
