Glen Moray 18 Year Old - Elgin Heritage Reviews
A good glen moray
I may be bias because It's from elgin where i say, but its a good dram. Well balanced, though not as refined as others. It has the quality of a 18 but perhaps not the character, worth buying if you can land a discount on it as i did.

Humdrum
It's a nice enough dram, and therein lies the issue. It has no real detractors, but for the age, and effort involved, it actually falls short of the fifteen year old, which I (and others) consider better. Classic Glen Moray flavour profile, but just underwhelms, and in comparison to it's contemporaries, it lacks that bang for buck you look for when buying an eighteen year old.

4/5 for what it is
94 proof unchill filtered single malt aged 18 years for about 110 bucks and I would say it is a solid value, a bit sweet, chewy, moderate complexity, smooth finish, not my favorite but very good and the value is there at 110 bucks. Typical highland flavor profile of brown sweets which is not ideal for me personally but the bite from the lack of chill filtering and the higher proof make it enjoyable and a good value at the $110 I paid for it. Recommended but my next bottle will probably be a Talisker or a Springbank

A cracking whisky
A cracking whisky IMO, barley sugar sweet, citrus fruit, vanilla toffee and a nice bit of spice and its strength makes it even more of a pleasure.

I thought it was very good
I don't claim to be an expert but IMO this is very good indeed for the price and great to see an 18 year old single malt bottled at this strength which no doubt will have added to the flavour.

Classic Speyside
Contrary to popular opinion on whisky, I don’t think whisky continues to get better with age; I prefer a spirit-led dram. Once in the cask for 25, 30, 40 years, its not for me. With that in mind, I must give this a very high score and I enjoyed it very much. Classic Speyside; plenty of fruit, malty, honey, an array of spices and a sympathetic amount of oak. An excellent example.

Soft, smooth, delectable
One of the smoothest drams I had in ages. Soft honey and heather on the palate, not a hint of burn. A truly delightful companion on a quiet evening.

2 stars
Each to their own , I’m not saying it’s a bad whisky just for the age and price I don’t think it makes the mark.I stand by my 2 stars.

3 and a half seems about right
Two stars is harsh, writer, below...
I broadly agree that the 15 is the one to go for and the 12 offers the best value, within the range but this is still pretty good. It doesn't represent any significant improvement upon the 15 but the 15 is pretty great! We can debate value but I can't accept 2 stars, so excuse my marking it up, to compensate.

Disappointing
Being a big fan of Glen Moray's Heritage range I thought I would bite the bullet and go for the top of the range as I have been so impressed with all the others, the 12 and 15. I have been drinking the Glenfiddich 18 and rate this as superb, the flavours go on and on. The Glen Moray 18 has all the credentials to be a 1st class dram, 1st fill, non chill filtered and 47.3% ABV but sadly just does not deliver in aroma and taste . I am about half way through the bottle but have to say I am disappointed especially as this cost over £70 delivered. Don't know what went wrong here but won't buy this one again, Glenfiddich 18 for me in future.
