This Glen Moray single malt Scotch whisky was created by master distiller Graham Coull after he was inspired to create an intensely sweet and smooth expression due to the success and popularity of American bourbon. Glen Moray Fired Oak was aged for 10 years in ex-bourbon casks before it was finished in heavily charred American oak to mirror the production of bourbon (by law bourbon must be aged in charred virgin oak).
Oak char, vanilla sweetness and dark fruits lead among dried grass, toffee and milk chocolate.
Through banoffee pie, tangy citrus and butterscotch candies there are notes of golden barley, oaky vanilla and freshly picked red berries.
Well balanced and sweet.

For those of us who like our whisky on the sweet / dried fruit side this is a lovely drop for a very reasonable price.
Unfortunately like all glen moray alright for someone trying whisky for the first time, but once you try others I doubt you will buy one again. Made the mistake of thinking fired oak would be different.
my wife bought this for me at christmas and I have just opened it. Wow ! this is good whisky, lots of fruit ,vanilla and toffee on the nose with a fruit, honeycomb and spicy vanilla topped off with liquorice and sweet caramel on the palate.Finish is dry, spicy, smoky and lots of vanilla. This is a superb whisky that is packed with flavour and feels older than 10 years and higher than 40%abv. An excellent whisky from an excellent distillery. TC
