Glen Marnoch - Aldi (yes, Aldi!)'s 24 year old single malt whisky! We tasted this alongside the sterling Glenbridge 40 year old in a tasting led by none other than whisky legend Jim Murray. This was distilled in 1987 and bottled in 2011…
We’re sadly sold out of this, but if you’re after a bottle of Scotch then feel free to browse our site single malt whisky.
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Red apples, bourbon, gristy, vanilla. Heat brings out more bourbon and rye spice.
Lean, slightly bitter, not a huge deal of depth. An enormous hit of almost Saccharine sweetness before the rye spice develops into a slightly acrid note?
Acrid saccharine turns slightly alkali, and slightly mouth-watering (not in a good way). Becomes really very off-putting at the death.

I had 3 bottles of Glen Monarch 24 yr old whisky. It went rather quick. Very smooth and fantastic taste. My son does not like whisky until he tried iMonarch 24. A pity it's all gone.? From. Leslie Irvingp
There is not a bad Malt, just ones that don't suit everyone!! I had it bought as a gift and I thought it was similar to Fettercairn in character, not one that I would go out of my way to buy but quite drinkable. I have just been bought a bottle of the Speyside malt and the Speyside Bourbon at £18 and £19 respectively so will be interesting to see what these two are like.
Pulled a cork on a bottle before Xmas. Loved it!. I have spent twice as much in the past on whisky which wasn't as good. I highly recommend this if you can still find a bottle. At £50 it is a BARGAIN.
This whisky is extremely poor, not worth an outlay of £20 never mind £50 or more. Just does nothing!
I received a bottle of Glen Marnoch for Christmas and have just emptied it, with the wife's help, I must say that we enjoyed it. It's not the best scotch in the world, but I enjoyed it very much. Sad to see it go.
