Red apples, bourbon, gristy, vanilla. Heat brings out more bourbon and rye spice.
Lean, slightly bitter, not a huge deal of depth. An enormous hit of almost Saccharine sweetness before the rye spice develops into a slightly acrid note?
Acrid saccharine turns slightly alkali, and slightly mouth-watering (not in a good way). Becomes really very off-putting at the death.
Wow! What a surprise. A cracking whisky for under 20 quid. Dunno what the nay sayers are complaining about. I gotta get another bottle of this whisky that bends the knee to no other.
I have had many single malts from Scotland and Ireland, some I like very much, the glen marnoch comes in the range that I like. Waiting for another delivery at aldi!! Still, their other singles are pretty good (except the really cheap blended bottles which are passable when mixed).

Bought this whiskyin 2013 and still sipping it today. Really nice fruity flavour to it and you can smell the appels when you opens the cork.
It's back in my local Aldi. Bought a 24 year old and an 18 year old. Just having a glass of the 24 year old now, and it's a decent drop of whisky, not up there with the best obviously, but certainly worth £50.
