Glen Keith
Scotland
Single Malt
This handsome chap before you is the first permanent no age statement single malt from Glen Keith that the distillery in Speyside has released. Matured in ‘traditional’ American oak casks and bottled at 40% ABV, the release of this laid-back malt is very welcome indeed...
Sweet and crisp with orchard fruits and a malty character. Toffee apples and banana skins linger.
Through oaked dryness and an oily note comes vanilla sweetness with helpings of apricot yogurt, dried mango and nectarines. Suggestions of chocolate pudding, a slight grassiness and a little spice form the backdrop.
Subtle floral notes and new oak, with a little honey.
A very smooth tasting malt. Lovely Pear and apple notes. A lovely warm burn. Have to say (I don't like mentioning price normally) for the price this is one of my favorites. Would really recommend this.
Everyone has their own views and palate, i really like this ! it is not harsh nor does it taste chemically, in my opinion i find it sweet and very fruity / vanilla and i could drink it neat but i choose not to, just a drop of stones ginger wine does it for me ( i once bought a bottle of Talisker on someones recommendation and i had to mix it slowly with other cheap blends just to get rid of it as i found it foul, so i rest my case, ) and it was expensive ! trust me it is really smooth when it is on offer at the 20.00 mark it is a snip, just open it, let it breathe for a few minutes and smell the bottle, lovely ! then pour and enjoy
This is my go-to, cheap, very drinkable whiskey. Don’t let the bad reviews throw you off. I think the price clouds people’s view of a good bottle. This is a smooth, rounded, buttery whiskey. It just goes to show you don’t need to break the bank for a good dram.
Too many anti-NAS snobs out there. Very drinkable malt. By no means the best but you can't complain when you can pick a bottle of this stuff up £20 in some shops. Perfect for filling in between pricier malts.
Excellent my favourite tipple, I love the fruity taste and smooth finish a real value for money scotch.
