Introduced in 2016 (along with a 12 Year Old expression), this 18 Year Old Glen Grant delivers gorgeous notes of vanilla, nuts and caramel.
Probably one of my favourite whiskeys worth every penny Very smooth
This a light whisky. It has some complexity of flavours, although they are very subtle. It is also a bit spirity which is strange for an 18 year old. There are better whiskies for twenty to thirty quid in supermarkets so this is a let down.
Perfection! struth
Like most I read a lot of the reviews in the books and here on M of M and I love to go on you tube and watch and listen to Ralfy especially with the same thing in my hand he's doing- what a great game! ... I also dare say that I'm quite right to disagree with them sometimes JM way more so than Ralfy who I think is the fairest. Ralfy did the Adelphi Glen Grant 18 not this one and it really would be great if he did... Anyway my thoughts on GG18 (Hats of to JM on this one) are quite simply that this is "Borderline Perfection" One thing or word that many writers don't seem to use or refer to is "BALANCE". This is one of the best "Balanced" Malts I have ever enjoyed - onto my second bottle. Every aspect is equal... Analogy, its like driving your car after having a new set of tyres fitted but also getting your alignment done properly as well. Im not going to get into smells tastes and flavours they are all open to your own interpretation, so if you can I would suggest you try this asap. Glen Grant I stand and salute you. Ralfy God Bless you and a big dram ready if I ever meet you. Friends you really have to go a long way to come close to this one for the money.
My wife bought this for me for our anniversary and I was quite taken aback of her choice! Opened the bottle and added a splash of cold water to open this "Nectar of the Gods" and sipped it and paired it with a good cigar (Connecticut)! Very pleasant on the nose (not over powering) smooth to the palate, albeit a weak finish, but it's there if you "listen for it." Overall, I HIGHLY recommend this fine Whiskey for the seasoned connoisseur or for those looking to break into whiskey tasting. You can't go wrong with this one.
