After slumbering for 15 years, this expression is bottled up by the litre at 50% ABV, helping to bolster the vibrant fruit and vanilla-rich oak that runs through Glen Grant's single malt.
Lemon meringue, biscuits, bread dough, dry oak and brown sugar.
More citrus, now paired with banana chips and dried apricots. Subtly nutty, soft Christmas spice notes developing.
Milky tea, ginger, green apples and peach.
Pear smell, a little vanilla and floral on the nose. Taste is pear and oak and a little peppery. Beautiful light gold color, smooth smooth wonderful on the tongue. Sweet oak, strong, delicious. 15 years in bourbon oak makes this one great. Air is the only mixer that is touching this one in my glass, laddies!!
At first, did not like it, as I drank it out of a glencairn glass. I gave it another go in a short, open whisky glass. For the nose, you want to get in there as it is very delicate and this way you can get the pear and apple notes. Very good from there in. It is all about the fruit with this one.
