Glen Grant
Scotland
Single Malt
No age statement malt from Glen Grant, The Major's Reserve is very easy to drink, and a great entry level malt from the distillery.

Not as refined as an aged whiskey maybe, flavor notes are there but not very balanced which affects the smoothness in my opinion, adding a little water does not help either. However, for the price range, it is entry level single malt and that's what you get, most enjoyable and half way decent.
I agree that this is not 'top of the mornin' to ya' whisky but I couldn't negatively rate the dram. To all the negs out there...be more specific in your comments...wally's! I found The Major to be fairly smooth with a hint of smoke. As far as the quality based on the price...right up there. Here's the question...how do all you 'add coke' posers know how a whisky (any whisky) tastes with a dash of coke. Pillocks.
A good no nonsense single malt whisky. Does it feel exclusive? No. Does it provide you with an amazing taste experience? Not really. But is it bad? Not at all. I get some smoke, oak and sweetness out of it but not much else. However, at this price point you really can’t complain that much. Cheers!
Avoid at all costs
Nice single malt. Don’t think about how the bottle looks (it has screw cap) or price. If you do a blind test, most probably this whisky would get better reviews and stars. By the way, nothing could be better for the price.
