Bourbon
Following a period of inactivity, the door of Glen Garioch swung open once more in 1997. This release is made with whisky distilled that very year, and bottled in 2012 are maturing in first-and-second-fill bourbon barrels.
Creamy and sweet, with notes of vanilla ice cream and banana fritters.
A kick of cinnamon and pepper, but this remains firmly in 'caramel and orchard fruit' country.
Apple turnovers dusted with brown sugar.

Wonderful - quite possibly the best whisky I have ever had the pleasure to encounter. Could be the Bourbon barrel finish (having a strong affinity for anything from Wild Turkey of course). Having said that this is through and through fine quality Scotch - simply one of the best. Like another reviewer I bought one to taste and one to keep. Don't think the keep one is going to hang around too long though!
This stuff is amazing, great taste and great price at the moment. Grab it whilst you can as this is a small batch release to mark the companies 200th anniversary. Collectors item definitely!! I bought a few to taste and keep.
