Delicious single malt from the Glen Elgin distillery, matured for 12 years before That Boutique-y Whisky Company managed to bottle it up at 49.1% ABV. The label sees Lord Elgin wandering the picturesque Scottish countryside with his white horse, carrying some Elgin marble and some actual marbles. A very pleasant scene indeed.
Batch 5 is a release of 1,830 bottles.
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Light cedar notes, with the spiciness of the wood balanced by pearl barley, buttery croissant and a touch of marmalade. There’s a lovely Conference pear note underneath.
Orchard fruit, sweet cereals and milk chocolate at first, as a prickle of black pepper develops in the backdrop.
Floral lavender and honey linger.
Find a Scots Pine tree, break off a twig, pull back the bark and smell the sap, distill what you have and hey-presto Glen Elgin 12 year old, the very taste of bonnie Scotland, as if not produced by man but by the king of trees......lovely !
