Four Roses founder Paul Jones Jr. became undoubtedly smitten by a beautiful woman who he proposed to. She said she would let him know her answer by attending an evening ball with a four rose corsage. We guess she said yes, since he renamed his entire brand to Four Roses! This Single Barrel 100 Proof bourbon is a rich, plummy and fruity whiskey, and it makes a fantastic Hot Toddy or Kentucky lemonade.
A balanced, rich, fruity nose. Notes of spices and chocolate. Toffee and vanilla.
Tart stone fruits, prunes, spices, morello cherries, cocoa and vanilla.
Oak, chocolate, butterscotch.
In my opinion, this is the very best bourbon you will find at this price. Even if I was a billionaire, I would still drink this bourbon and it would be my go to.
It just might be the best bourbon whiskey around. Great on the rocks. Price is very reasonable.
Notes of caramel, cinnamon, , pepper, and a spicy rye kick.
Simply the best bourbon - bar none. Unlike the other bourbons on the market - both in this price range and well above - the wood note is not overpowering, nor is the alcoholic kick. This is not a super aggressive bourbon, and quite mellow. Delicious notes of cherry, vanilla, maple sugar, and all bottled at a very healthy ABV. Truly a great buy, and in my opinion miles better than Eagle Rare 10 for around the same price.
There are a few finer Bourbons than this one - but certainly not in this price range - much better than any Bourbon I've tried at twice the price; you have to go way up the spending charts to start finding superior ones. Definitely my go to drink until I win the lottery.
