Four Roses founder Paul Jones Jr. became undoubtedly smitten by a beautiful woman who he proposed to. She said she would let him know her answer by attending an evening ball with a four rose corsage. We guess she said yes, since he renamed his entire brand to Four Roses! This Single Barrel 100 Proof bourbon is a rich, plummy and fruity whiskey, and it makes a fantastic Hot Toddy or Kentucky lemonade.
A balanced, rich, fruity nose. Notes of spices and chocolate. Toffee and vanilla.
Tart stone fruits, prunes, spices, morello cherries, cocoa and vanilla.
Oak, chocolate, butterscotch.

Can't decide if this has more licorice than caramel. Salty too. Delicious. - Stone fruits. Dark fruit. Cherries.
* cask [30-3L] in warehouse [TS], that is. bottling date: won't have been long ago.
* quick note: cask 30-3L can't take even the slightest drop of water. further notes: floral, distinct aroma of rose petals. toasty Armagnac-like character. cloves and cinnamon pastries. plums, yes, and cherries, absolutely. chocolate, with aeration. chocolate milk powder. figs. Vanilla like the vanilla of a book that's been sitting on a shelf for forty or fifty years. - very charming, very romantic.
Rick: TS, barrel: 30-3G. What can I say? This is a gentlemanly bourbon. Well behaved but intersesting, three dimensional creature. On the nose sweet and deep, fruity note. Very summer like. On the palette is balanced and spicy, something of high quality, typical bourbon flavours, vanilla and dark fruit. The finish is mid to long and buttery. Overall, very satisfying experience, something I would like to share with anyone visiting my home.
*Real* dusty, dry, and not sweet - like that. refined. Up front cherries, like a cherry coke. got a bit of marzipan. real ripe plums. pepper on account of the rye, but I've drunk pepper-er. caramel and vanilla, hiding back there. easy drinking neat. water don't do much for it. sure is dusty . . . . ~ recommend starting new drinkers off of this one. let them skip right past that 'more affordable' and 'entry level' stuff. bang for your bourbon dollar - or pound! have a good one, all ~ ¢
