The Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery that makes Filey Bay whisky is run by the same lovely folk who handle Wold Top Brewery, so naturally you see some fine beer casks being used to age its whisky. That's what happened here. Filey Bay whisky casks were used to first age the Marmalade Porter, which were then in turn the final maturation vessels for this Filey Bay single malt. Just 2000 bottles were filled at a robust 50% ABV.
Orange peel, roasted malt, apple peel, espresso beans, cinnamon, and dried fruit.
Marmalade, chocolate pudding, liquorice, cherry, and nutty syrup.
Orange chocolate and nutmeg.

I can't deny this is a nice whisky, but there's virtually no influence from the porter cask and is almost indistinguishable from Filey Bays standard bottling. Not worth the price tag, even with the high ABV and limited release.
