From one of English whisky's finest distilleries comes a batch of beer-cask-finished single malt whisky. The Filey Bay brand has already established that this is a combo that works rather well for its spirit, so once again it has collaborated with sibling company Wold Top Brewery to finish its whisky in casks that previously held Scarborough Fair IPA beer.
Cooked apple, malty biscuity, bright tropical fruit, and oak spice.
Pear drops, aromatic spice, foam banana sweets, roasted almonds, and buttered sourdough.
Floral honey and grassy barley linger with green apple sweetness.

Tasted this at at whisky festival in early September, and it was my first Filey Bay, and I was very impressed. I'm a fan of IPA and I picked the influence out straight away. It's sweet and oily, yet there are nice malty and 'hoppy' flavours there too. A different, but lovely whisky.
Light and easy to drink. An interesting bottling. On the nose it is sweet especially ripe raspberries and hints of oak. The palate is gentle. Again the oakiness comes through but beneath the sweet sugariness. Not a lingering finish but very pleasant none the less. If you want something a little different, it’s well worth a try.
