This is a second batch from Fettercairn's Warehouse Collection! Following on from the marvellous first expression in the series, this one was matured in a combination of first-fill rye and first-fill bourbon barrels (selected from the eponymous Warehouse 2, of course), imparting sweetness and spice in delicious harmony. Rye casks aren't seen all that often in Scotch whisky production, so this is a rather intriguing expression indeed – and tasty too! A release of 6,000 bottles.
Cinnamon buns, honeycomb, a little Turkish delight floral freshness, paired with soft cedar notes building.
Maple syrup, candied orange peels, more cinnamon, now with ginger and anise in tow.
Drying cacao notes appear on the finish, with citrus remaining constant.

Luckily managed to get one of these before it sold out. The nose was full of vanilla, complex spices and a basket of tropical fruits lathered with honey. On the palate, it was lovely coffee with ginger spices, drizzled with sweet maple syrup. A definite must try
