A handsome, smartly packaged Fettercairn. Fior is Gaelic for "true", and the whisky has an astonishingly rich flavour of cocoa, espresso, spices, fruit and almond. We love it. It was released in Summer 2010 as part of the distillery's rebranding process, which is positioning them into the premium market.
Great malt. Good smoke, vanilla, and citrus on the nose. Really stood out with a spicy, toffee on the palate and a hint of licorice. Finish lasted for al ong time, but did not leave that stomach-peat the next morning. I would buy a bottle of this! Final Note: I am doing the 2015 advent calendar. As a result, I get one drink at it to decide if I like it enough to buy more. Sometimes I need to drink something three or four times to make up my mind. Thus, my rating is based on a one-time drink experience.
I first tasted this whiskey in the Advent Calendar. It's smooth and pleasant with great presence. I'd buy this for my bar.

Not normally a Scotch drinker, mostly bourbon, but this was REALLY a fine balanced single malt. I think I might be converted. :-)
got this as a present from my best friend because it is the name of our town in Dublin where we grew up, i was always a dewars man until i tasted Fior, magical stuff!!
