From the Fettercairn distillery at the foothills of the Cairngorm Mountains comes the Fettercairn Fasque, which is named after a country estate that is also rather close to the distillery. It's an unpeated expression from the Highland distillery.
Baking spices, dried fruits, poached pears and a good whiff of oak.
Toffee pennies, oak spice and vanilla. Subtle mocha notes along the way.
Medium, with raisins and sultanas reappearing.
Really quite nice.

No age statement, so not old...and no mention of sherry casks...yet this has a remarkably dark hue...which tells me that colouring or flavouring has been added. A shame, as the malt underneath is good. Unfortunately it's overly sweet and bitter as it is. Reminds me very much of Whyte & Mackays 'double marriage' blend...
One of the best whiskies I've ever tasted, came across it by accident in a supermarket and have had several bottles since, highly recommendable even though it's a bit more expensive than others. Well worth the extra few pounds.
Nice spice and all things malt. This has sweet fruity taste and leaves a lovely smoky after taste. Simple yet effective..... its a must try. Sp
this has to be my favourite whiskey I've tried in 2014 and 15. lovely dark sweet and rich complex flavours. one to contend with.
