    Famous Grouse Blended Scotch Whisky

Famous Grouse is one of the world's most popular blends, and the best-selling Scotch whisky in Scotland. This whisky is a nicely balanced, malty blend which was first made in 1896. It went on to be known as The Famous Grouse, with the name registered in 1905. Around eighty years later, the company was awarded a Royal Warrant. The blend represents great value for money, and it also works beautiful in whisky-based cocktails. Delicious.

A perennial favourite with critics and connoisseurs alike, Famous Grouse whisky is a superb blend with a great deal of character. Today, more than 2 million cases are sold annually, making it one of the most popular whiskies in the world.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

A crisp, light nose offering up notes of toffee apples, hints of dried flowers and biscuity barley.

    Palate

Balanced, biscuit-laden palate with a core of thick, creamy malt. Just a hint of spice and the vaguest whisper of smoke really bring a great deal of complexity.

    Finish

    A slightly sweet, malty finish.

    Overall

A very malty, biscuity blend. It's easy to see why this is so popular in Scotland!

    Strong caramel

I’m no expert, but this blend seems dominated by a very strong caramel accent that seems to obscure it's whisky spirit.

Absolutely worth buying - Caleb Z

Sooo smooth and it just feels like warmth. I’ve had Famous Grouse every day for five days. It’s a great blend and one of most favorite Scotch. I strongly advise new people to try this blend, it will definitely not disappoint, my guarantee. For the cost, it’s worth it.

    harsh and boring

As others say, this is no longer a nice whisky. It starts with a petrol nose and moves on to a distasteful and fundamentally uninteresting flavour with no journey and no depth. For the same money get a bottle of Campbeltown Loch for a nice peaty uncomplicated blend, or try Cutty Sark Prohibition, a tasty honeyed dram for just a little more.

You simply can't beat this blend

For the money, you simply can't beat this blend. Smooth. Honey-flavored. Soft on the pallete. This is my go-to Scotch for everyday. An incredible value.

In summary, I asked those who try Famous Grouse two be open-minded and they will find it a great experience

I am absolutely flabbergasted by the negative reviews of Famous Grouse. Like some of the other reviewers, I am not a connoisseur of scotch only having drank Scotch for approximately 10 years. And honestly I have only tried probably four or five different types of scotch. Initially I enjoyed single malt but then tried Famous Grouse about 3 months ago honestly due to the price. My taste buds tell me that it is the best Scotch I have ever had. Speaking as a psychologist, I'm thinking negative reviewers are thinking the taste is changed simply because the bottle style was redesigned. The bottom line is that our taste is an individual experience based on a lot of factors and I encourage anyone who reads these negative reviews to make your own judgement based on how you enjoy Famous Grouse
