Famous Grouse is one of the world's most popular blends, and the best-selling Scotch whisky in Scotland. This whisky is a nicely balanced, malty blend which was first made in 1896. It went on to be known as The Famous Grouse, with the name registered in 1905. Around eighty years later, the company was awarded a Royal Warrant. The blend represents great value for money, and it also works beautiful in whisky-based cocktails. Delicious.
A perennial favourite with critics and connoisseurs alike, Famous Grouse whisky is a superb blend with a great deal of character. Today, more than 2 million cases are sold annually, making it one of the most popular whiskies in the world.
A crisp, light nose offering up notes of toffee apples, hints of dried flowers and biscuity barley.
Balanced, biscuit-laden palate with a core of thick, creamy malt. Just a hint of spice and the vaguest whisper of smoke really bring a great deal of complexity.
A slightly sweet, malty finish.
A very malty, biscuity blend. It's easy to see why this is so popular in Scotland!

Hi there , I recently bought a half bottle of 3 year home trade whisky in a supermarket in Partick in Glasgow . I have to say it was the worst tasting whisky i have ever tasted . I don't know who blended that lot but its got to be a really bad blend . I don't know who the blender is but the malts he is using do nothing for the whisky . Its rank rotten and probably does not have any Islay malt in it which makes it so bad .
Boyfriend got bought a large bottle by my parents a week ago. He put it in his decanter only to pour some out last night, took a sip and made me smell it. It smelled exactly like White Spirits (Turpentine) and had a thin film floating on the surface. He poured the glass away, and smelt it this morning to double check. He then poured the entire bottle down the sink as both the glass (and decanter) reek of Turps. It’s so overwhelming we are really concerned.
I'm astonished at how polarized the reviews are... my verdict, over many years of enjoying this blend is, in a word, delicious. Like so many of you, it is my favorite "everyday" (not really EVERY day...) scotch. FIVE STARS *****
It's garbage. I bought this after reading a few positive reviews but - seriously? This has some weird chemical metallic taste to it. It's dark and unpleasant. It doesn't seem to resemble Scotch Whisky at all. It's something entirely different that begs to be poured straight down the drain. Never again. Zero-point-zero.
ha - its not Whiskey ........if you love Whiskey , drink Jamison or Tullamore .... they are nice , if you want Whisky , then then is an inexpensive choice ... we like Abelour and Glen Livet as well .....
