Famous Grouse is one of the world's most popular blends, and the best-selling Scotch whisky in Scotland. This whisky is a nicely balanced, malty blend which was first made in 1896. It went on to be known as The Famous Grouse, with the name registered in 1905. Around eighty years later, the company was awarded a Royal Warrant. The blend represents great value for money, and it also works beautiful in whisky-based cocktails. Delicious.
A perennial favourite with critics and connoisseurs alike, Famous Grouse whisky is a superb blend with a great deal of character. Today, more than 2 million cases are sold annually, making it one of the most popular whiskies in the world.
A crisp, light nose offering up notes of toffee apples, hints of dried flowers and biscuity barley.
Balanced, biscuit-laden palate with a core of thick, creamy malt. Just a hint of spice and the vaguest whisper of smoke really bring a great deal of complexity.
A slightly sweet, malty finish.
A very malty, biscuity blend. It's easy to see why this is so popular in Scotland!

Bad whisky I ever drink,it smell like smelly sock
I dont understand the good reviews. I've enjoyed a pretty wide variety of whiskeys out there and have enjoyed most. I have no preference for single malts over a blend. Good is good in my book. This stuff isn't. Tastes like some kind of industrial cleaning agent used exclusively in prisons. Strong alcohol taste. Very little 'Scotch' taste. It's not pleasant smelling, hard on the palate, and worse going down. Best selling scotch in Scotland? Well Karkov tops vodka sales here. Perfect analogy.
This may offend a few people but I don't care. If you buy this expecting, or even comparing it to a well aged single malt then you are an idiot. Because quite clearly that isn't what this is, or is intended to be. It's a budget, young blend along the same sort of lines as Bell's etc. And taking it for what it is, it is very passable. There is clearly a lot of grain whisky in the blend as would be expected at this price point, but that isn't an issue for me as I don't mind the alcohol heavy taste that is produced as a result. Take it for what it is and it does the job.
Why is there so many horrible reviews? I picked up a bottle of this scotch on a whim, it was inexpensive and I had read some interesting reviews (like Ron White drinks it regularly) and gave it a shot. It's smooth, crisp, and at more than half the price of a single malt.. why not?! Heck of a lot better than Johnnie Walker Black - which is the only blended scotch I really enjoy. HIGHLY recommend you try it!
If you really know your whiskey you’d be making a big mistake, buying this overly commercialised shite. Zero taste just alcohol. The aftertaste makes you feel like you caught malaria and a dry gob like Ghandis flip flop. ......much better cheap whiskeys out there than this pinnacle crap. Please avoid at all costs!!!
