Brilliant whisky. I had my first taste in a British Army Officers Mess in 1979. ( I was a Canadian Army junior Officer attending a year long technical course of studies). Have had this in my home ever since. A 1.14 litre bottle in my village costs me $ 42.95 (Canadian). Great taste and great value.
This is my go-to scotch for everyday quaffing. Nicely balanced in a Highland Park kind of way. Stands up well to ice and a splash of soda. An excellent base for making Atholl Brose. Can't beat it for the price.
among all those entry level I have tried this is the best for me, great taste, malty. There are no smoke for sure but for that there are other styles.
No depth, taste like vodka with whisky flavouring.. thats it.
I have tried many blended's at this price range and I liked them all and this is by far the best of those, and it's also better than some higher level blended. Neat or with ice it will be my non smoky blended, unless it became inconsistent. With normality the preferred of the scots. Well done.
