    Famous Grouse Blended Scotch Whisky

Famous Grouse is one of the world's most popular blends, and the best-selling Scotch whisky in Scotland. This whisky is a nicely balanced, malty blend which was first made in 1896. It went on to be known as The Famous Grouse, with the name registered in 1905. Around eighty years later, the company was awarded a Royal Warrant. The blend represents great value for money, and it also works beautiful in whisky-based cocktails. Delicious.

A perennial favourite with critics and connoisseurs alike, Famous Grouse whisky is a superb blend with a great deal of character. Today, more than 2 million cases are sold annually, making it one of the most popular whiskies in the world.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

A crisp, light nose offering up notes of toffee apples, hints of dried flowers and biscuity barley.

    Palate

Balanced, biscuit-laden palate with a core of thick, creamy malt. Just a hint of spice and the vaguest whisper of smoke really bring a great deal of complexity.

    Finish

    A slightly sweet, malty finish.

    Overall

A very malty, biscuity blend. It's easy to see why this is so popular in Scotland!

Not just boring- I find it very unpleasant

I used to think it was decent enough, albeit boring, for a budget scotch back when I had bought it maybe a couple times several years ago. I just bought it again today for the first time in years, and I find it to be extremely unpleasant. It has an almost acrid aroma, and goes down about as smoothly as that. I could barely even stand it in a Rob Roy. It made me wonder “ has it changed ???”

    Enjoyable and on budget

A value for money go, you can find out there. Enjoyable taste, not that intense but for sure for a couple of rounds it keeps up the tones

    Excellent

A fine drink for the average tipple. Much much better than ANY American whiskey and guaranteed to please every time.

Not bad but not my thing

I'm no expert so I may be speaking completely out of turn.. my experience is this is a smooth, sweet tasting whiskey that lands somewhere between Jameson and Jose cuervo. Not the best but certainly drinkable.

I hope to be able to buy this soon in the states.

I had a bottle gifted to me from a true Scotland native that enjoyed it immensely. Since my first taste, it has made me enjoy the tastes and the smells of the Motherland! Very good aroma and the taste is wonderful. I, for one, hope to enjoy this for many years in the states. My friend knows how to pick them!
