Bourbon Cask - Elements of Islay
An ongoing member of the Elements of Islay series, this blended malt Scotch whisky has been treated to a stay in a combination of first-fill and refill ex-bourbon barrels. Bottled at a robust 54.5% ABV, it showcases a superb balance of smoky, zesty Islay character.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Quite tropical with notes of pineapple and banana, vanilla sugar, and fragrant oak. Snuffed candle and oily embers surface from afar.
Palate
Syrupy sponge cake, drizzled with citrus zest. Nutty maple brings a rich depth, with hefty peat smoke rising from the core, softened by chocolate chip cookies and vanilla cream.
Finish
Crème brûlée ties things up, while the smoke tails off sweetly.
