This beautifully packaged Edradour was distilled in December 2003 and bottled in October 2010, having been matured exclusively in Burgundy wine hogsheads.
Nose: Very sweet, biscuity nose, led by notes of steamed pudding in syrup, chamomile and barley. Hints of synthetic vanilla and spice.
Palate: Toffee apples, sticky toffee pudding and vanilla essence. Quite oily and robust, and certainly a dessert whisky if there ever was one.
Finish: Ends on cold tea, cola bottle sweets. Green and leafy, some porridge oats and more of that vanilla on the tail.
