Wine Cask
A rather well-aged Edradour single malt, distilled back in October 1999. It saw just shy of two decades of ageing, including a finishing period in a pair of Bordeaux wine hogsheads, imparting lots of red fruit and dark chocolate richness to the spirit. Eventually, in July 2019 the Highlander was bottled at 19 years old, with an outturn of 589 bottles at 56.2% ABV.
Blackcurrant jam, creamy mocha notes and toasted teacake, with heaps of chai spices.
Ripe plum and damson, with cinnamon custard, anise and clove, along with a touch of Bakewell tart.
Dry oak, orange oil and a hefty slice of Black Forest gateau.
