Barbaresco is a tremendously fun word to say. Go on, give it a go. Bellow it out loud like you're Matt Berry. Lovely stuff.
The Italian wine, made with the Nebbiolo grape, also makes a very good cask for maturing Edradour whisky in. So that's what the Highland distillery did, for 12 years no less, until this whisky was bottled in 2023 at 48.2% ABV with no additional colouring or chill-filtration.
Rich fruit cake, maple syrup, oak spice, blackcurrant compote, and orange peel.
Creamy vanilla, bramble berries, toasted nuts, toasted heather, and ginger.
Long and spicy.
