This splendid 16-year-old single malt from Dufftown is brought to us by the gang at That Boutique-y Whisky Company. The whisky spent its time maturing in a single hogshead, and it's brimming with fresh fruit sweetness and biscuity malt.
Batch 5 is a release of 243 bottles.
That Boutique-y Whisky Company bottles limited edition whiskies from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blends, all adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels. The brand won Spirits Bottler of the Year at the 2023 Spirits Business Awards, and Blender of the Year went to Sam Simmons, captain of the Boutique-y clan who oversees every one of these releases.
Sweet and clean on the nose, with lemon peel and stone fruits supported by vanilla, floral honey and dried grass.
Orange blossom, apricot yoghurt and a hint of baking spice at the core, with chewy toffee and Digestive biscuits underneath.
Peaches in syrup and oak spice.
