It's a Wonderful Christmas...
A great gift for all the family !
Great idea. Not so sure about the execution and value.
I bought three calanders, one for my husband and one each for my two adult sons. Starting on 1st Dec at the agreed time of 9pm, they each opened the fisrt door and sampled the first whiskey, this continued every 9pm until Christmas day. They made an on-line chart, each posting their thoughts re taste. colour and enjoyment. The calanders were great fun and were the topic of conversations on pre Christmas family get-togethers. They were thoroughly enjoyed by the men who said they were fantastic gifts, something they wouldn't have bought for themselves but a real treat. I intend to do the same this year, may even splash out on the Premium whiskeys.!

A fun idea, definitely more interesting than the version with small chocolates that I recall from childhood.
Unfortunately, I'm disappointed that only about a third of the samples I've opened (so far) are distillery bottlings with age and/or vintage statements. The preponderance of "whiskies of the world" really surprised me.
Overall, and keeping in mind the price point, too many of the samples are not "premium".

...and it's barely begun. I'm five days into the Premium Advent Calendar and I love it. A great way to sample different whiskeys. Last night I had my first Japanese scotch and I was blown away by it. I just wish December were 40 days long.
