This decadent 21-year-old blended Scotch whisky joins the Dewar's Double Double series, named such due to the method of ageing whisky and blending it before further maturation and finishing. This expression was finished in oloroso sherry casks, so expect elegant layers of fruit and spice, with a softly silky texture.
Fruity layers of dried pineapple and peach, backed up by honey biscuits. Oily malt and syrupy flapjacks studded with sultanas follow.
The fruit from the nose carries through with plenty of tropical notes, joined by dried stone fruits and citrus peels. Crushed nuts and old oak mellow in the depths.
