The classic 12 year old blend from Dewars, this stuff is the successor to Dewar's "Double Aged" 12 Year Old - so named in reference to the additional six month marriage the whisky enjoys in oak after the initial maturation and blending. The practice is maintained despite the name change and the result is loads of flavour…
A heady note of juicy fruit and thick, creamy malt. Rather floral, and quite sweet with notes of toasted barley, almond and a tinge of honey.
The palate is perfectly poised with notes of barley malt, hot buttered toast, a little honey, and some aniseed spiciness.
A touch of smoke on the tail, alongside plenty of thick malt and sweetness.

I actually got a bit of syrup (maple or corn, not cane) at the nose after the first finger. The finish isn't quite as long as I'd like....but for a blend, this is a standard go to & should be a home bar staple. Not too smoky, which I prefer. I've always had it neat, so can't speak for a splash or rocks. Good luck.
Some might criticize it for being too smooth, but as a vodka drinker, I rather enjoy it. The honeyed and floral profile fits my tastes just fine. Add a teaspoon of water and let it sit for a few minutes for some winey notes. Little to no burn. A decent introduction for beginners, maybe.
Just Outstanding !!!
I just sampled my first Dewars 12 and I do believe my search for the perfect whisky is over. Factor in the inexpensive price of Dewars 12 with its fantastic flavor and quality you come up with a virtually unbeatable whisky. I'll probably never buy another brand of scotch or bourbon after tasting this gold water of life. Lovely stuff!
This is a very smooth Scotch. I loved it
