Orkney Sponge Edition No.2 is a single malt whisky from an unnamed Orkney distillery, taken from a single refill hogshead. Distilled in 2005, the whisky matured for 16 years before only 341 bottles were released in 2022, bottled by Decadent Drinks as part of its collaboration series with invaluable and irreverent news source, Whisky Sponge.
Refreshing sea spray, with waxy lemon peel, and crumbly shortbread.
Light vanilla, with flapjacks, lemon sherbert, and dried seaweed.
Some zingy spice builds, along with a touch of salted caramel.
