Deanston Virgin Oak is made with young whisky which has been finished in brand new oak casks from Kentucky. Always a pleasure to have Deanston single malt Scotch whisky around, as they are certified by the Organic Food Association and power their distillery using hydro energy, so you can always feel good about the delicious dram in your hand.
Fresh citrus, honeyed barley and a subtle hint of smoke.
Toffee sweets pop up first, followed by a dollop of cream and oak notes.
Oak spices on the finish.
Well made, the new oak doesn't take over the whisky at all, which is always a risk with these casks.
$33.31 - $85.46
Sweet, soft, smooth. Recently gave this to a friend as a birthday gift. He not much of a whiskey drinker, but said that this one might make make him have to start.
Very sweet! Sense of honey. I like it but it may be a little too sweet.
tasty honey sweet !
Yes, they sell this stuff that smells like alcohol and tastes just a tad better for 33GBP. But then you could grab heavenly Aberlour for the same price sometimes. So this is just an offense to any whiskey lover, really.
Fruity & honeyed with an oaky bite at the tail end. Spices & a tease of smoke develop as it sits in the glass awhile, making it a tasty enough dram, but I'd be surprised to discover if it's any older than 5 years aged, total. Good value highland single malt.
