Deanston Virgin Oak is made with young whisky which has been finished in brand new oak casks from Kentucky. Always a pleasure to have Deanston single malt Scotch whisky around, as they are certified by the Organic Food Association and power their distillery using hydro energy, so you can always feel good about the delicious dram in your hand.
Fresh citrus, honeyed barley and a subtle hint of smoke.
Toffee sweets pop up first, followed by a dollop of cream and oak notes.

Well made, the new oak doesn't take over the whisky at all, which is always a risk with these casks.
Absolutely superb from Deanston. Fabulous flavour, oaky without being over bearing, a definite must try for Highland whisky lovers.
I picked up a bottle in Ontario, Canada, very well priced at $50, and liked it so much I went back for 2 more. I find it light and sweet, with a toffee-caramel character and a bit of perky lime citrus. It's a delicate one despite its relatively high abv. Pleasant finish but not overly long.
Just picked up a bottle and wanted to try it. Beautiful surprise. Really good taste and smooth considering it’s newness. I fully recommend the lovely wee scotch.
Really really like this, Bit of wood and some sweetness with a lovely mouthfeel. At 46.3 it doesnt suffer from a touch of water. My current go too. Relatively cheap in SA too. And an absolute antidote the the disappointment that was the Bowmore darkest....will have to give it another try.
Enjoyable whisky. Oak is prevalent of course but sweet. Aroma and taste both opened up and improved with a touch of water. Another good Deanston effort at a good price.
