Nose Dried grass, apricot yogurt and salted butter on brown bread is followed by earthy vanilla with lemon sponge and golden syrup. Flickers of nutmeg are present too, among a little ash and flint.
Palate The palate has a rich oiliness that’s very pleasant. There’s acacia honey here, drizzled over toast, and elements of beeswax and bourbon-esque vanilla. Golden cereals develop, which pink grapefruit and orange rind add a citrus aspect to.
Finish More honey and barley sweetness lingers among a creamy nutty suggestion.
Overall A satisfying slow-burner with plenty to admire about it.
