This special edition range from Deanston features 9 years old single malt Scotch whisky that have been finished in casks that previously held French brandy. The result is an expression packed with honeyed goodness and rich fruit.
Demerara sugar, cookie batter, star anise and lemon peel.
Thyme honey with a pinch of fresh orange blossom, balance by subtle coffee notes.
Apricot and honeydew melon.
Not great.
Loved this, I dont know how they get a 9 year old whisly to be this smooth with these aromas and flavours. If I was to criticise at all, it would be that it seems a bit thin if you add too much water. Not taking anything away ftom it though, its belting.
